OUR HISTORY

Toronto Gymnastics International Inc. (TGI) was founded in 1989 formerly operating at the West Toronto Whirlwinds from 1979 to 1989.  Gymnastic programs have been operating successfully for 27 years in Toronto and Etobicoke and thousands of children have benefited from their experience in gymnastics.

TGI is a member of Gymnastics Ontario and currently has an enrollment of 1500 members.  We are proud of a strong recreational program and girls and boys competitive program.  All TGI coaches are certified NCCP Levels 1-3 and have an excellent rapport with children.  Our gymnastic programs are designed to provide safe and effective learning in a supportive environment. Over the years TGI has produced many top provincial athletes and we are very proud this year to send 5 athletes to Eastern Canadian Championships and 4 athletes to National Championships.

OUR FACILITIES

In June 2007 TGI we relocated to 77 Browns Line, Etobicoke. Our new facility is on the ground level with approximately 15,000 square feet of space.  Various programs are offered to children 18 months of age up to competitive levels and adults.

In 2003 TGI received an equipment grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.  TGI has a full range of Olympic quality Gymnastic equipment that all gymnasts train on.  This includes a sprung competition floor area, additional floor areas, power tumbling floor, tumble trak, multiple trampolines and mini tramps and foam pit, multiple balance beams, uneven bars, high bars, rings, parallel bars, pommel horses and a vault table.  All equipment is surrounded by top quality landing mats, resi pits and crash mats.

WHAT TGI OFFERS YOU AND YOUR CHILD

Three 12 week sessions are offered during the school year as well as a March Break and Summer gymnastics camp during July and August.

Young people are grouped according to age and ability and will progress through a series of specially designed gymnastics level systems.  TGI incorporates the Can Gym level system and it’s own specially designed level system.  All gymnasts train in small groups with their coach at a ratio of 7:1 for kindergym and 8:1 for recreational.

Gymnastics develops strength, flexibility, balance and coordination.  More than that it encourages concentration and motivation and promotes self confidence.  Gymnastics training at TGI is a bundle of good things wrapped up in fun!!!
